In late 2023, SACLP told us of fourteen girls who had been forced to drop out of secondary school because they could not afford the fees. In successive projects, TILT paid for tailoring training for them, sewing machines, training in running a VSLA, basic financial literacy, and initial business supplies.

All of them are certified at least at a basic level to make clothing, school bags, and the like. They opened businesses in December 2024. The new school term has increased demand for school uniforms and bags. Increased production has produced increased income; increased income has produced self-reliance. Consistent practice has increased their skills and confidence; they are making more kinds of products. Word of mouth is bringing them more customers, further increasing their income.

Their VSLA is reported to be functioning well, with perfect attendance at weekly meetings and savings deposited in their bank accounts at each one. The newly-elected Chairman of Education Projects is supervising their development.
